My son HAD koodoo, he tried to cancel because it was way more expensive then he thought it would be but when he tried to have his phone turned off they said they couldnt cancel his service until he paid his full bill which was about $150 at the time(not huge but more expensive than he expected, he was flat out told no he could not cancel, of course they have no record of that call nor do they have record of any of the calls he made trying to get help to retrieve his pin # so he could use self service(when you call customer service they charge you)so he made a partial payment then THEY decided on may 11 to suspend his service but still charge him for the full month of may 10-june 9 how convenient that they didnt suspend his service on may 9th, that being said they were threatening to ruin his credit so i agreed to help pay the bill to avoid that but i called koodoo to ask them to reduce the bill a little(excess interest charges, the month he was charged and never got to use) I really think that is illegal to charge someone a fee and not provide a service sounds a bit fraudulent to me! the first girl i talked to was getting me nowhere so i asked for a supervisor, a new girl came on i asked if she was a supervisor because she sounded really young she assured me she was, about 20 minutes of frustrating back and forth with her i asked to speak to a manager, she kept saying there were no supervisors available, i said wait aminute i thought you were a supervisor and keep in mind this call is being recorded so she admitted she was not a supervisor and kept trying to get me off the phone i said i will wait she came on the line about every 5 minutes to tell me there were no supervisors available i waited on hold close to an hour and finally she hung up on me all i wanted to know was how to get ahold of their head office i wanted to write to them to let them know how bad their customer service is all she would say is she would have a supervisor get back to me within 48 hours BULLSH.....! I called back and acted as though i was going to make a purchase and got a supervisor(WOW) they do exist! she was a pin head and would not provide me with names and addresses either but i will find it. it is now my mission. On a more personal note why does everyone need cells anyway? I find them annoying if i am out you can wait till i get home to talk to me, if i am at work i have other things on my mind and you can call my work # if there is an emergency, if i need to get ahold of someone, i will use a payphone or politely ask to borrow the phone at the local convenience store, i just can't imagine paying thousands of dollars a year for something so annoying, you could buy a car!
I hate Koodo! Every time i phone their "customer service" center, i get some snotty high-and-mighty customer service rep who feels they can talk down to me, and even argue. Straight up argue! And this is EVERY TIME I CALL! I have NEVER had a real customer service rep when phoning this company. Last time, it was so bad, i said "Can you please stop shouting and interrupting? I didn't call in to argue, I just want to speak with your supervisor" and he said "The only way to resolve is to argue" and kept refusing to transfer my call. My issue with Koodo is that they shut my phone off in November, and then didn't provide me with service, but continued to CHARGE me for the service, for 2 months. They said this was because I "didn't cancel it properly". HOw was I to know how to properly cancel my phone when the CSR didn't mention anything? He's the one who told me I was cut off! I am NEVER using Koodo again and will NEVER recommend it to anyone!! They are just some Jo-Circus operation and all I can hear in the background when talking with them are people talking about how drunk they got on the weekend. Koodo: BAD CALL!!!

I have been with them for 2 years, thier text network is slow, it'l take maybe a couple minits for them to send, however this is the same as telus....its the same company, sent through the same network...it just costs less and has more annoying commercials...
Ive lost my phone twice, and both times got a 'free' one....lose a telus phone...or a bell phone and its gonna cost you at least 100$....lose a rogers phone and you need at least a years worth of contract left, or your also screwed.
as for the people who got cut off...thats what they do to people who dont pay thier phone bills for several months...if you can find a company that doesnt let me know...
great provider for cheap basic service, customer service is on the poor side....but again when you compare it to rogers...or bell customer service its a million times better.
Phone companies in general are an enormous rip off in this country, koodo is among the better deals

To Mary
It states quite explicitly on the "terms of service" form, the web site, pamphlets, and the koodo facts booklet (included in the box with every phone). That monies owed to koodo must be paid before they will cancel the phone. As for it being "way more expensive then he thought it would be" I believe once again your son did not pay attention. He likely bought the cheapest option(s) available and greatly exceeded those limits, which will incur an additional fee. Again all this is clearly stated. Maybe he needs to pay more attention before he gets himself into something you won't be able to bail him out of. Let's hope he learned something.
As for customer service, I have dealt with koodo for a little over three years and have received nothing but quality service and would highly recommend them. I live in southern Ontario and frequently call and or text Europe (Germany in particular). On occasion, with a text of multiple pages they will not come through in the order they were typed. But it only takes a few extra seconds to read the message. So in my opinion it is not a big deal at all.

I only got my phone for my daugher on Sunday and they guy at the store
gave me the wrong intformation about the type of plan I signed up for, so for last 24 hours i have been trying to get thru to customer service and on hold for many minutes, I have also sent 2 emails with no response. I'm not
happy right now thinking I have to deal with this type of customer service for next few years, as well my daughter has told me is not getting her texts
right away

Ive never had a problem with Koodo until yesterday. my messages have been failing to send. not just some ALL OF THEM. I can recieve them fine. Ive sat here on hold for 2 hours listening to there awful music. FML
The entire Telus network has been having problems with text messaging because of some Iphone app causing a slow down. Read more about it here, you're not alone.

Also, everyone is calling in right now for this issue, or otherwise so no surprise their customer service is slow.

So KOODO If KOODO sucks try other providers, Rogers screw you on plans, billing, cancellation big time. BELL will try to sell you anything but good service and is expensive. Other providers are not far from them.Problem with messaging? Do you understand how messaging work? So do not complain, call support and they will help you. Customer support is in South America but calling *611 and you have to wait 20 minutes because they are busy who cares you do not pay for it .They will help you. I called many times and I had no problem to resolve my complain. Now if anybody from KOODO read this articles should consider to introduce lot more smart phones like Samsung vave or Samsung galaxy KOODO service targeting young generation no contract plans and this generation love gadgets that play music, video, internet and with KOODO plans KOODO would do better business. So anybody know better or cheaper provider, let me know. The reason I suggest Samsung because iPHONE application just messing up whole system and slowing down everything

Koodo's Customer Service does suck...HARD. Here is your easiest best solution. Go to your local Walmart, which must have a Connection Centre. If it's the weekdays ask for the C/C Manager. He/She will call Koodo for you and try to get it rectified. I am a Connection Centre Manager and I can attest to their crummy cust service. However, in their defence most Cell companies suck at customer service. The only Cell company we don't deal with is Bell Mobility. I can easily say they all suck customer service wise.
I was wondering , if I plan on the ending my 3 year contract with bell (I've only gone through like 1 year and 5 months with them so far) anyways what company should I go with ? I prefer companies who have good plans for unlimited texting and no monthly service fee's or the 911 fee's like bell does . they charge me $9.95 each time ,

Twice now my friend has received a text message from me FROM ANOTHER NUMBER!
I tried to call customer service and they just kept saying they didn't understand what I was trying to tell them.
It's ridiculous! And now I'm trying to explain to someone that somehow the lines were crossed and it wasn't my fault .. TWICE!!!!
I'm really disappointed with their service right now.

Koodo has the worst customer service on the Planet! I thought that Bell Mobility had poor service but they look amazing compared to Koodo. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I had purchased two phones for my kids and have experienced nothing but problems with the service. I have had my business phone with Telus for more than 6 years and have never experienced a problem. I guess you get what you pay for! Lesson learned.

Hello,
I have had my $25 Koodo account for two months now and decided to add the call display add-on. I tried adding it via the self-serve website but it didn't work, so I called the help line very worried about what I would be charged. However, the lady was very nice, and I when I mentioned my failed attempt to do it myself online, she said she would waive the fee usually added when you call in. I have also had no problems receiving or sending texts.
Therefore, my experience with Koodo so far = A+
