Plug-in not working in IE | Peter's Custom Anti-Spam for WordPress | Forum
Back to the custom anti-spam plugin page
12:08 pm
I had installed the plug-in (latest version, 3.0.3) over the weekend and tested it - it appeared to be working fine (in Firefox). This morning I got an e-mail from a reader who was unable to leave a comment on my site - she kept getting asked to enter the anti-spam word, but no word was visible. I just tried it in Internet Explorer (version 7 is what I have on my computer here), and it most definitely is not working correctly. At the comment form on the bottom, you don't see the anti-spam word or box to type in. But when I scrolled up, I did see them in my right sidebar. But even when I typed the word in the box in the right sidebar, I still got the error message asking me to enter the anti-spam word. I don't know if this error is occurring in other versions of IE - again it worked fine in Firefox when I tested it.
I tried changing between using php or jpg images and it didn't seem to make a difference - Firefox still worked either way and IE still didn't.
I've deactivated the plug-in for now, but am hoping that someone here can help me. My site is http://www.momof3girls.net. Thanks!
Hi Deb,
Please use the manual insert method. This is necessary because you use a non-default theme and thus the auto-positioning of the anti-spam field is off.
