In my experience you can't cancel the Canadian number you paid for. You can add other numbers to your Magic Jack, but they charge you $10 per number. I registered my magic jack yesterday and made the mistake of choosing and purchasing the Canadian number before I chose the free US number. I wanted a local Florida number to use when we are here for the winters as well as the Ottawa number for Ottawa callers to contact us when we are away in Florida. Now if I want to get the US number, I have to pay $10 to add an additional number to my registered Magic jack. I asked if I could cancel the Ottawa number and do the registration over again? I was told no I couldn't. The registration process didn't explain that if you purchase the Canadian number first, you would not be able to register a free US number after wards. I conveyed my disappointment and dissatisfaction when I spoke to the Customer Service agent online.
